Applied Membranes Incorporated (AMI) has been converting seawater to drinking water and providing expertise in the desalination industry for over thirty years. AMI manufactures efficient 240 volt water making systems ranging in typefrom commercial and industrial reverse osmosis, nano-filtration, ultra-filtration and microfiltration to pre-treatment and post-treatment equipment.
AMIï¿½s Maritime watermaker series has been designed to withstand the harshest environments and are manufactured using quality, long lasting materials to provide minimal maintenance. The Maritime range extends from the compact 150, producing up to 6.3gph, through to the large 1600 which produces up to 66gph of fresh water, dramatically extending the cruise range of most vessels.

AMI acknowledges that watermakers may be used in many remote areas which has led them to design and manufacture the Maritime range using no proprietary components. Their proven design, heavy duty construction and robust components ensure a long field service life requiring minimal maintenance. AMI utilises readily available off the shelf components that can be purchased from a variety of sources worldwide, helping to limit watermaking down time when servicing or in the event of a problem.
The Maritime watermaking systems have also been designed to utilise standard types of cleaning and pickling chemicals available almost anywhere, allowing cleaning and maintenance schedules to be easily carried out. Through thoughtful design and manufacture the range of AMI watermakers have the ability to be serviced or repaired using only a basic range of common tools by almost any technician around the world.
The compact powder coated aluminium enclosure (modular also available) features a stainless steel CAT high pressure pump, high and low pressure cut off switches, emergency pressure relief valve and easily accessible service valves for cleaning and pickling. Additionally, each Maritime series watermaker is supplied as a complete unit and includes automatic fresh water flush module, booster pump, permeate quality water diversion valves and full installation component kit.
In-built on all models is an easy to operate LED display control panel featuring easy access and read out functions including delayed start-up, permeate TDS
with alarm set point, water temperature, on/off with storage tank level readout (tank sender required) and fresh water flush control. Other important information displayed includes operating status, operating hours, permeate quality and alarm condition while time delays, set points and flush modes are fully programmable. For convenience a full function remote control panel, SP13135796, is available as an option.

Each AMI Maritime watermaker has an incorporated fully automated watermaker controller with multifunction keypad featuring easy to read back lit LED display to provide programmable features such as time delays, set points and flush modes.
For optimum watermaking capacity and water quality the microprocessor controller, with built in diagnostics, continually monitors the systems critical operating functions and outputs to ensure maximum performance. These include permeate quality (TDS), water temperature, automatic product water diversion and operating status.
The microprocessor can monitor and control such operations as booster pump functions, provide delayed start up of the high pressure pump, monitor temperatures, provide operating hours and perform fresh water flushes. The LED display and multifunction keypad provide audible and visual alarms, allow for programmable time delays, set points and flush modes as well as low pressure and automatic restart triggers.

Simple connection to the main watermaker control board is via a standard Cat5 network cable, allowing control over the system by the operator from nearly anywhere. Simple functions include start, stop and boost pump control plus high salinity and pressure fault warnings displayed.
